DELANEY & CO. CPA
Business Consulting and CFO Services
Businesses often reach a point where they need professional financial advice but cannot justify a full-time CFO or controller. DeLaney & Co. CPA fills that role for Ohio businesses — budgeting and forecasting, cash-flow oversight, staff training and financing support — for the hours you actually need. Call 740-653-7301.
Our services give you a professional financial manager who works with you to help guide your business to success. Because we also handle your bookkeeping and business tax returns, the advice comes from someone who already knows your numbers — not from a consultant reading a summary.

When it makes sense
Most owners call us at a turning point: growth that outpaced the bookkeeping, a bank asking for statements the business cannot produce, a partner leaving, or a purchase big enough that guessing is expensive. The common thread is that a decision has to be made and nobody in the building can price it out.
You do not have to commit to an ongoing arrangement. Some clients use us monthly, others for a single project.

Questions
Common questions about CFO services
What is an outsourced CFO?
An outsourced CFO is a Certified Public Accountant who takes on the financial-management role of a chief financial officer without being a full-time hire. You get budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow oversight and financial reporting for the hours you actually need, rather than a salaried executive position.
How is this different from bookkeeping?
Bookkeeping records what happened. CFO-level consulting uses those records to decide what to do next — whether the margin supports another hire, what the bank will want to see, how a purchase changes the tax picture. We do both, and they work better together.
Can you train our in-house accounting staff?
Yes. We train and manage accounting staff, including QuickBooks setup and workflow, so your team can handle day-to-day entry correctly and you are not paying us for work you can do yourselves.
Will you work with our banker or attorney?
Yes. We regularly act as liaison with bankers, attorneys, vendors and insurance agents, and we assist with obtaining bank financing, including the negotiation.
Do you help with buying or selling a business?
We assist with mergers and acquisitions — reviewing the financial picture, quantifying what the numbers actually mean, and working through the tax consequences of how a deal is structured.
How much does it cost?
It depends on how much of the role you need. Call 740-653-7301 and describe your situation. We will tell you what is involved and what it will cost before any work begins.
