DELANEY & CO. CPA
Tax Planning and Preparation in Lancaster, Ohio
DeLaney & Co. CPA prepares federal, Ohio, school district and municipal tax returns for individuals and businesses across Fairfield County. Returns are e-Filed with direct deposit, and you work with a local Certified Public Accountant — not a seasonal preparer. Call 740-653-7301.
Tax work is not a once-a-year transaction for us. The return you file in April is the result of decisions made throughout the year — how a business is structured, when equipment is purchased, how retirement contributions are timed. We look at both, so the planning informs the filing and the filing informs next year's planning.

Questions
Common questions about tax preparation
Do you prepare both personal and business returns?
Yes. We prepare individual federal, Ohio, school district (SD 100) and municipal returns, and business returns for sole proprietors, partnerships, LLCs, S corporations and C corporations. Many of our clients use us for both, so the personal and business sides are prepared together and agree with each other.
When is the filing deadline?
Individual returns are due April 15. Partnership and S corporation returns are due March 15. If you need more time we can file an extension, but an extension is time to file, not time to pay — estimated tax owed is still due by the original deadline.
How long does a refund take?
The IRS issues most refunds within 21 days of accepting an e-Filed return with direct deposit. Returns claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit are held by law until mid-February.
Can I work with you if I cannot come into the office?
Yes. You can use our secure online client portal, drop documents at the office, or use no-contact in-office service. Many clients complete a full return without a face-to-face appointment.
What if I have unfiled returns or an IRS notice?
We prepare unfiled back returns and respond to IRS and Ohio Department of Taxation correspondence on your behalf. Bring the notice and whatever records you have and we will work through the open years.
