At DELANEY & CO. CPA, we focus exclusively on accounting, payroll, and tax services so we can deliver the highest level of expertise.
How we work with financial planners
While we don't provide financial planning, we're happy to connect you with independent advisors we know, like, and trust. We do not receive referral fees, and we're always glad to collaborate with any financial planner you choose.
Where a CPA fits alongside your planner
Investment advice and tax work are different disciplines, and clients are usually better served when each is done by someone who does it full time. We handle the tax side and coordinate with whoever handles the rest.
What we contribute
Tax projections your planner can build around, the tax consequences of a distribution, sale or Roth conversion before you commit to it, entity and retirement plan questions for business owners, and year-end coordination so nothing is filed twice or missed entirely.

Questions about financial planning referrals
Do you provide financial planning or investment advice?
No. We focus exclusively on accounting, payroll and tax services so we can deliver the highest level of expertise in those areas. We do not sell investment or insurance products.
Can you recommend a financial planner?
Yes. We are happy to connect you with independent advisors we know, like and trust. We receive no referral fees for those introductions.
I already have an advisor. Will you work with them?
Yes, gladly. We collaborate with any financial planner you choose, and having your CPA and your advisor talking to each other usually produces better decisions than either working alone.
What tax questions should I bring to you rather than my advisor?
Anything with a filing consequence — the tax effect of a retirement account distribution or Roth conversion, the sale of a property or business, estimated payment planning, and retirement plan choices for a business you own.
Who should I talk to first about my situation?
Start with a conversation. Call 740-653-7301 and describe what you are trying to accomplish. If it is accounting, payroll or tax work, we handle it. If it belongs with a planner or another specialist, we will say so and point you toward someone we trust.
